2020 North Texas Construction Industry Wage Survey

Skilled craft professionals continue to earn high wages, according to the newly-released 2020 North Texas Construction Industry Wage Survey. Participating trades includes bricklayer/stone masons, A/C mechanics, electricians, drywall and acoustical ceiling installers, pipefitters, plumbers, sheet metal workers, steel workers, waterproofers, crane, forklift and truck drivers, welders and skilled laborers.

The collected data, representing more than 151 companies, 5,250 employees in 46 job categories, was compiled and analyzed by Lane Gorman Trubitt, LLC Construction Group. The results include average hourly rate, average health & welfare, average pension, average vacation, and average total package.

To help increase the pool of available workforce, many companies have launched or expanded their in-house training programs and have gotten involved with the TEXO Foundation to reach out to high school students, college students, technical schools, and other areas of the community to promote construction careers.

Other commercial construction trade association and councils that collaborated in the Skilled Workforce Survey include local chapters of the Regional Black Contractors Association, Regional Hispanic Contractors Association, Independent Electrical Contractors, American Subcontractors Association, Construction Financial Management Association.
